For 30 years the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) has worked to provide educational assistance to the youth in our community through various initiatives and programs. These efforts have been realized on a national level through LULAC’s commitment to sponsoring students to attend the LNESC Washington Youth Leadership Seminar and by providing scholarships in coordination with LULAC's National Scholarship Foundation. Locally, LULAC established the Manuel de Jesus Alvarado Scholarship Fund in 1997 to provide scholarships to local students and was instrumental in the founding of the Hispanic Student Endowment Fund at Pima County Community College. LULAC has also worked to provide additional services in the community through establishing and helping to sustain Young Readers Programs, providing bicycle helmets, child safety seats and computers, and by donating food boxes to families in need.
A key ingredient to the success of LULAC’s programs locally and throughout the country has been the significant support of the business, educational, and government communities. In order to continue to assist the youth of our community with their educational and financial needs, we must seek the generous financial support of individuals and businesses. Without your help and assistance, a great number of our youth would not be able to pursue a higher education.
All donations, no matter the amount, greatly assist us in helping to sustain our programs. Your support of our fund-raising efforts can be accomplished several ways.
